XXII Fall Meeting of Polish Information Processing Society Management, administration, IT 6-10 November 2006. Vistula, Poland Organized by the Silesian, the Mazowsze, and the Lublin Branches of The Polish Information Processing Society
This flagship conference of Polish Information Processing Society is, as it has been over the last two decades, a place for meeting people, for exchanging experiences and information, and for coming up with new ideas.
Create your own conference – this is the motto of the XXII Fall Meeting of Polish Information Processing Society. If you are an IT manager, you could learn how to manage your team more effectively as a result of a meeting with Tom DeMarco, one of the top specialists in this area in the world. If you are interested in IT Government and EU funded projects, standards for exchange of information in Government, EU, and the private sectors, you could count on meeting decision makers and specialists in these areas. If you are interested in improving the effectiveness of business communications, you could learn various storytelling and other techniques during a meeting with Nahum Gershon. In each case you will be able to meet well recognized professionals who know which tools and in which way applied will allow you to obtain best results.
Meeting Structure To accommodate the tight schedule of busy professionals, the Fall Meeting will consist of a 3-day central part (Tuesday, November 7th 2006 through Thursday, November 9th) and additional events that are related to the conference, such as workshops, seminars, tutorials etc. These additional events will take place on the preceding Monday (6 November), and the following Friday (10 November 2006). Monday’s events will be related to the topics discussed in the early part of the main Conference while Friday’s events will be related to topics discussed in the second half of the main Conference.
The structure of the three-day central part of the meeting will be as follows: Mornings: Plenary sessions, during which well-known specialists will discuss issues of interest to all participants of the conference. Afternoons: Parallel sessions (2 or 4 hours long) that will be focused on specific subjects of interest to groups of participants and will involve in-depth studies, exchange of ideas and hands-on experience. The intention is to directly involve the participants in response to their specific need for specialization in all areas of IT.
Location: The Gołębiewski Hotel in Wisla, Poland We decided to return to the Gołębiewski Hotel after last year’s successful move of the conference from Mrągowo to the Gołębiewski Hotel.
The First International Multiconference on Computer Science and Information Technology (FIMCSIT) FIMCSIT will take part in parallel to the Fall Meeting. It is an outgrowth of last year’s Scientific Session that was organized for the first time within the framework of the Fall Meeting. Since the results were encouragingly positive, we have decided to start a path toward creating of a first-class conference devoted to various aspects of computer science and information technology. The Program Committees of the FIMCSIT and its components comprise of renowned Polish scientists from Poland and from abroad, as well as researchers from over 20 countries. This multidisciplinary and international aspect of the Fall Meeting and its associated events is a result of our strong belief that IT is a global phenomenon and that interactions between IT professionals and scientists are very important, and often forgotten aspects of development of information technologies.
Extracurricular Events As done successfully in previous meetings, Fall Meeting will be accompanied by a number of non-IT events, such as concerts, IT Bowling Championship, and swimming and evening singing and guitar playing. The Gołębiewski Hotel, the conference venue, has one of the best centers for hydrotherapy and a fantastic aqua park.
Therefore, on behalf of all organizers, I would like to invite you to Wisła, where we will make sure that you will go back with new skills, knowledge, inspiration, and new vital energy.
