Web2.0 – a new goldrush?
Date: Tuesday, 7th November, 2006
Theme: Web2.0 is a name coined by O’Reilly in 2004 for a conference on new trends in Internet services. There is no single definition for the term – some definitions describe the technologies used (like AJAX), some are connected to society aspects (like ability to publish and ability to create services by internet users), others are connected to data transfer between services. Additional trend, not taken into account on most of definition proposals, is video migration to Internet. The term Web2.0 was eagerly adopted by media and investors, for whom more Internet users mean bigger online-project potential. The session aim is to try to work out a common definition of what is currently going on in the net – which may appear to be Web3.0 already.
Participants or whom it’s for: The session in directed mainly for people creating internet portals, internet projects managers, people who want to have an insight into the most recent trends in www.
