Is this a right time for stimulating the interaction between subjects in identified clusters of IT companies in Poland?

Date: Thursday, 9th November 2006

Theme:
Recently Mr.Grzegorz Micek published a PhD thesis on the “Factors and mechanisms of spatial concentration of the IT companies in Poland”. His study answers the questions like: where do Polish IT companies concentrate, how the processes of knowledge transfer stimulate the establishment of IT companies and in what degree some of the centres create enterprise circles. During the workshop – basing on Grzegorz Micek’s study results – we’ll try to go a step further pondering is this a right time for stimulating the interaction between subjects in statistical, identified clusters of IT companies in southern Poland? Mr. Luk Palmen, the Project manager will present the components of cluster development and will show how the assessment of the situation in a particular region should be made. Furthermore he will present how one can discover the potential of cluster behaviour reinforcement.

Participants or whom it’s for:
The workshop is for the representatives from IT companies from south of Poland, universities, institutions from market research and development sector, reinforcement institutions and self-government authorities.
